Clay Projects for Families

For Parent with Child age 5-10.
Work side by side with your child to create wonderful memories and exciting clay creations. Cheska Komissar will teach the handbuilding techniques needed to create wonderful clay containers, trays, animal bowls, musical objects and food sculpture or vessels. Make holiday gifts or new family heirlooms (a Thanksgiving gift or hot plate, a holiday ornament and more). Sign up for 3 workshops and save $5. Tuition includes all materials and firing. Fired projects can be picked up two weeks after the workshop. Limited to 10 pairs.

Giant Paper Masks

Winter is a time of celebrations tied to intrigue and masks. Create a giant paper mask, outlandish or crazy or just plain fun, during this one day workshop led by Cheska Komissar.  For parent with child ages 5 – 10.

Drawing Side-by-Side


Experimenting with a variety of media children and adults will create a series of playful artwork inspired by direct observation. Adults will learn from children, and children will learn from adults under the guidance of instructor Stacey Piwinski in this one-day workshop.

Free Weaving: Learning the SAORI Way

This winter semester class is for all ages and abilities. Instead of working with preconceived weaving patterns, children and adults will work intuitively, embracing the natural beauty of unintended mistakes, and exploring the unknown. This Japanese free style technique can be quite meditative and stress relieving. As students explore the unexpected, they will create their own unique fabrics out of a variety of materials. Instructor Stacey Piwinski is a studio member of Saori Worcester and studied in Japan as part of a Fulbright Memorial Teacher Program.
